As a boy, Welles Crowther (pictured, center) sometimes wore a red bandanna. He dreamed of growing up to be a fireman. After college, he worked in finance at the World Trade Center in New York City. When terrorists attacked on September 11, 2001, several people said a man wearing a red bandanna saved them. TOM RINALDI (far left) tells Crowther’s brave story in his new book, The Red Bandanna. “It’s important to remember this day, not just for what was lost but for what we can learn,” Rinaldi told TFK.
